Beauty at Every Turn.
You don't have to go out of your way to find beauty here. The attractions are all around you. Crisp, clean air and plentiful water. A mountain backdrop. Crystal lakes, creeks and rivers. A small, intimate community where people know your name. And a wealth of surrounding natural resources, providing beauty, recreation and an inspiring place to live.
Community Life
The small-town feel to the West Central Idaho communities of Cambridge, Council, Midvale, Weiser, and McCall are reason enough for many people to move here. They are places where people stop along their way to chat, and neighbors look out for one another.
Land
From the backyard gardener, to the rancher and farmer, to the outdoor enthusiast, there is property for every need here. Fertile farm ground, an abundance of water and native range land are available for the buyer seeking the rural life.
Recreation Areas
Western Idaho has also set aside much of its land for public use. There are literally millions of acres (that enough for you?) of National Recreation area and Forest land available for people to enjoy. The two most prominent and popular of these are nearby Hells Canyon National Recreation Area and Payette National Forest.
|
Hells Canyon National Recreation Area (USFS)
Hells Canyon National Recreation Area is located along the upper 40 miles of Hells Canyon, where the Snake River, infamous for its whitewater, forms the border for northeast Oregon and west central Idaho. Water flowing from the Wallowa Mountains and other sources has helped create America's deepest canyon, even deeper than the Grand Canyon!
Payette National Forest (USFS)
Payette National Forest provides a varied landscape, from the low elevations of Hells Canyon to the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness, which rises over 9,500 feet. Payette National Forest is bordered by the Salmon and Snake Rivers, and offers opportunities for hiking, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and downhill skiing at the Payette Lakes Ski Club Little Ski Hill and Brundage Mountain Resort ski areas.

Outdoor Recreation & Sports
And then there are, of course, Hells Canyon Rim Country's many outdoor activities. Whitewater rafting down the Snake River. Snowmobiling among the hills against a blue, winter sky. Downhill skiing at nearby Brundage Mountain. The possibilities are unlimited!

Snowmobiling
It is estimated that there are over 7,000 miles of trails, and millions of acres open on Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, State and private land on which to snowmobile. See Idaho State Parks and Recreation's Web site for more information.

Horseback Riding
With thousands of acres of open space, you may find yourself riding off into the sunset.
