OVERVIEW:

This 19.69 acres is nestled at the base of the foothills in the beautiful, picturesque and quiet sanctuary of Bacon Valley located just over the ridge from historic Goodrich, Idaho.  The setting is simply beautiful. The area is wonderfully undiscovered and the views are both territorial and reaching.  The tree lined thread of the Weiser River forms the northwest boundary of Bacon Valley as it flows between fields and foothills.  7, 867 foot Cuddy Mountain is the scenic backdrop in full view. The West Mountains are in prominent view to the east.

The contrasting terrain and picturesque landscape surrounding Bacon Valley is trademark of West Central Idaho’s natural beauty.  This is country with deep farm and ranch history; a one-room country school just over the ridge at Goodrich stands testimony to earlier days when there was a railroad stop and small farmsteads were prevalent along the river and its tributaries.

The terrain of Lot 38 is gently sloping meadow and native pasture interrupted by one early season spring run-off stream channel, benefiting the parcel aesthetically and providing early season water to the land.  Improvements include perimeter wire fencing.  At the entrance into the property, attractive pole fencing, a swinging metal gate and graveled driveway approach have been installed.  A scattering of Ponderosa Pine trees planted in recent years are thriving evidence of the rich soils and climate well suited to growing gardens, yards, fruit and shade trees.  There is pasture and room for keeping a few head of livestock.  There are several excellent eligible sites for custom homes and outbuildings, each with sweeping views of mountains to the east and west.   The four season climate could be considered ideal; year around living at its best.

AREA OVERVIEW:

Bacon Valley is a quiet, undiscovered area in West Central Idaho’s Hell’s Canyon Rim Country located just the off the beaten path, yet with easy access by county maintained roads, state and interstate highways to nearby towns and cities.  This is big recreation country, rich with rivers, canyons, creeks, reservoirs and mountain lakes.  The Payette National Forest with over 2 million acres surrounds the area on three sides and stretching all the way to the Snake River.

The Weiser River through Bacon Valley is well regarded as a fishery and perfect for floating and fishing late spring and early summer.  The Weiser River Trail welcomes non-motorized access for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding along the Weiser River for nearly 80 miles.  Access is easy to the Weiser River and The Weiser River Trail as well as enormous expanses of national forest, BLM and state lands.  Wildlife in abundance includes elk, mule deer, wild turkey and water fowl that fly in and out spring and fall.

Cambridge, the nearest town and service center is about 7 miles southwest; Council, the Adams County Seat is about 12 miles north. Both Cambridge and Council are small towns with a big sense of community.  Both have a variety of businesses including eateries, lumberyards, grocery stores, libraries and K-12 schools.  Cambridge hosts Hell’s Canyon Days in June and the Washington County Fair and Rodeo in August.  Council is known for its 4th of July Celebration, the Adams County Fair and Rodeo and annual music festival.  The popular winter/summer resort town of McCall is about 50 miles north.  The state capitol city of Boise and Boise International Airport is approximately a two hour drive primarily on state and interstate highways.
